We have reason to celebrate in the Comal Independent School District because of you.  Without your support and enthusiasm, the first three years of the Comal Public School Foundation's successful operation would not have been possible.   

            The Foundation's volunteer board of directors has done an incredible job of organizing this non-profit organization since 2001 and promoting its purpose of supporting educational programs in Comal ISD by providing funds beyond the normal operating budget.  

            In 2001-02, a Founders' Drive was held and more than 80 companies and individuals donated $250 or more to be included as a Foundation Founder.  Total donations and pledges exceeded $130,000.  

            Over the last three years, the board has allocated more than $130,000 in classroom grants to teachers for innovative projects, and equipment.  You will find a complete listing of all of those grants on this web site.  The best part about giving away that money was being able to surprise the teachers during our Prize Patrols.  Tears and cheers were plenty!  

            New this year is the Foundation's Comal Cajun Celebration.  This major fundraiser will occur on Oct. 16, 2004 at the Garden Ridge Community Center.  It promises to be a good time for a great cause.

            Another highlight each year is recognizing the top 20 graduating seniors at Canyon and Smithson Valley high schools during an Academic Recognition Banquet in May.  Each student is given the opportunity to honor an influential teacher.  Needless to say, the evening is very special.  

            It is wonderful to see such a common focus among our community and Comal ISD staff.  There is still so much to be done, however, and during these challenging economic times we ask that all of us ‘dig deep' to remember that our children are our future.  

            Help us empower all students to work to their highest potential; to encourage staff innovations; and, to recognize staff for exemplary contributions.
